DCX Commerce (“DCX Commerce,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website dcxcommerce.com (the “Site”) and provides Shopify migration, Shopify development, WordPress maintenance, and related technical support services (the “Services”).
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our Site or request our Services, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site or submitting information to us, you agree to the practices described below.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Site or submit information to us.
1. Who We Are
DCX Commerce is based in the Philippines. You can contact us using the details in the “Contact Us” section below.
2. Information We Collect
a) Information you provide directly
When you submit a Migration Audit request, contact form, or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Website URL
- Current platform and target platform (e.g., WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento)
- Project goals and details about your store (e.g., approximate product/SKU count)
- Any other information you choose to include in your message
This information is provided voluntarily when you fill out a form, email us, or otherwise reach out.
b) Information collected automatically
When you browse the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information through cookies and similar tracking technologies, including:
- IP address and approximate location
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages viewed, time spent on pages, and referring/exit pages
- Date and time of visits
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site, and may use advertising pixels (such as the Meta/Facebook Pixel or similar tools) to measure the performance of our marketing and to show relevant ads to people who have visited our Site. These tools may use cookies, device identifiers, or similar technologies to collect this information.
c) Information we do not collect
We do not collect payment card details through the Site. If you become a client, payment is arranged separately (e.g., via invoice, Stripe, PayPal, or similar) and is subject to that provider’s own privacy practices.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to Migration Audit requests and other enquiries
- Assess and scope potential migration or support projects
- Communicate with you about your project, including follow-up questions
- Provide, maintain, and improve our Services
- Send service-related updates (we do not send marketing emails without consent, and never sell or rent your data)
- Understand how visitors use the Site, and improve its content and performance
- Measure and improve our advertising and marketing efforts
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our legal rights
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Essential functionality — enabling the Site and forms to work properly
- Analytics — understanding how visitors use the Site (e.g., Google Analytics)
- Advertising — measuring and improving ad performance (e.g., ad pixels)
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking cookies may affect how some parts of the Site function.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Site and deliver our Services — for example, hosting providers, email/form providers, analytics providers (Google Analytics), and advertising platforms (e.g., Meta). These providers only access information needed to perform their function.
- Migration-related platforms — if you engage us for a migration, we may need to access or process data within your existing platform (e.g., WooCommerce, Squarespace, Magento, BigCommerce) and your destination platform (e.g., Shopify) strictly to perform the agreed Services. This is governed by the separate project agreement/scope of work with you, not by this policy.
- Legal and safety reasons — if required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others.
- Business transfers — if DCX Commerce is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not share your information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes without your consent.
6. International Data Transfers
DCX Commerce is based in the Philippines and serves clients internationally, including in Australia and the United States. By submitting information to us, you understand that it may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the Philippines or other countries where we or our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your home country. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information is treated securely and in accordance with this policy wherever it is processed.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to:
- Respond to your enquiry or deliver the Services you’ve engaged us for
- Maintain business records for accounting, tax, or legal purposes
- Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements
Audit request and contact form details that do not result in an engagement are generally retained for a reasonable period to allow follow-up, after which they may be deleted or anonymized.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect the information we hold from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
For Australian visitors
We aim to handle personal information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), to the extent applicable to our dealings with you.
For EU/UK/EEA visitors
If you are located in the EEA or UK, you may have rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR, including the rights listed above. Our legal basis for processing is typically your consent (for marketing/analytics cookies), our legitimate interests (for responding to enquiries and improving the Site), or the steps necessary to perform a contract with you.
For California residents
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell personal information for money; certain advertising pixels may be considered “sharing” under CCPA — see Section 4 for opt-out options).
10. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites (for example, client store examples in our Case Studies). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third-party sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
11. Children’s Privacy
The Site and Services are intended for businesses and individuals over the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when changes were last made. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
